Kelagai Storage Dam Drilling

Kelagai Storage Dam Project

Hi-Tech completed feasibility study and design of Kelagai Storage Dam, an irrigation and hydropower project, under the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) of Afghanistan, a World Bank (WB) Project.

Hi-Tech in association with CES of India as joint venture partners prepared the Feasibility Study of Kelagia Dam Project. We completed the Kelagai Storage Dam project Feasibility Study in one stage; however we made the initial appraisal of the technical and economical viability of the project. We develop and investigate a series of alternative project configurations, and performed Project component optimizations. We refined the physical characteristics of pertinent design parameters through a more detail optimization process. We submit the interim Project Definition Report to the MEW. For the final Feasibility Report, we establish recommended storage dam axis locations, and through optimizations of all associated major hydraulic and structural components of the proposed dam, including identification and elaboration of related multipurpose aspects.

We conducted socio economic surveys and evaluate the impacts caused by the Project. We embark upon an environmental and social impact assessment program associated with the project development.

It had been proposed to construct an earth dam 75 meter high about 11 km upstream of Puli-E-Khumri City, creating 995 million cm reservoir storage.
